What Are The Options For Working Parents?

A lot of parents believe that by operating from home they won't need to worry about childcare – regrettably, this is not the case. Unless you can work only during the hours that your children are sleeping else you will have to get somebody else to help out with the kids.

So what are your childcare options?

Nurseries

Nurseries can be an excellent spot for your child to socialize with other kids and to join in with activities that you might not be able to perform at home (messy play or petting zoo 'visits' for example). Obviously your child won't get a lot of one-to-one care and needless to say, nurseries may also be rather expensive. They may also not be suitable for (and might not take) children under a certain age. For more information, you can search for Pre-school Childcare at Astwood Smiles Nursery in Redditch.

Childminders

Childminders care for a few kids in their own homes. It can be a lovely home-from-home experience for your child and not quite as dumb and intimidating as an entire nursery full of other kids.

Nannies

An expensive option (you will essentially become your nanny's employer so you will have to pay dues, national insurance, and in some cases provide convenience) but your child will have consistent, one-to-one care.

If you reside in the UK you may be able to receive some financial help from the Government to the price of childcare. Check the appropriate website for additional information and use the online calculator to find out how much you might be able to maintain.
